Penzance Place

Replacement of 6 sash windows in this elegant period townhouse in Holland Park. The works involved:

Manufacture and installation of bespoke double-glazed timber sash windows to match the original profiles and detailing.
Full removal and responsible disposal of the existing units.
Precision fitting and finishing to complement the building’s architectural character.
Integrated draughtproofing and painting, ensuring long-term performance and a flawless finish.

Kensington Court Mansions

We undertook a comprehensive upgrade of 26 sash windows in this elegant seventh-floor period apartment, working closely with Kea Developments. The bespoke schedule of works included:

Manufacture and installation of new, traditional-style sash windows to match the originals.
Slimline double-glazed sashes fitted into restored original box frames, which were carefully stripped back to bare timber and fully refurbished.
Draughtproofing and redecoration of existing windows requiring only minor works.
Stained glass units, expertly supplied by Annahita Hessami at Cut Glass Studio.

Challenges of this job included a different paint finish to the windows in each and every room (Benjamin Moore Scuff X), no lift access to 7th floor.

Chesham Place

Involving the conversion of 3 casement windows back to traditional timber sash windows in keeping with the property’s original architectural style.

Removal of non-original casement windows.
Manufacture and installation of bespoke single-glazed sash windows to match the historic profiles and detailing.
Integration of heritage glazing, sash cords, and ironmongery in line with conservation requirements.
Careful finishing to ensure a seamless blend with the building’s façade.

Premier Inn Kensington

A multifaceted refurbishment project carried out at a live, fully operational hotel in central Kensington, with no disruption to guest access or room availability. Scope of works included:

Replacement of 14 timber sash windows, manufactured to match existing profiles and upgraded with modern double glazing.
Full façade restoration and redecoration of 170 timber windows and doors, including masonry repairs and repainting.
Supply and installation of new steel access gates to improve security and visual consistency.Minor joinery repairs

Working within tight logistical constraints, all works were completed with minimal disruption, ensuring both operational continuity and a high standard of finish throughout.

Creston House

Delivered in collaboration with David Cooper Associates and completed in time for handover to local estate agents Druce, this project involved the sensitive reinstatement of high-quality timber joinery across a period apartment. Scope of works included:

Reinstatement of 4 double-glazed timber sash windows into existing box frames.
Restoration and fitting of 3 new arched, double French-style windows, matching original profiles.
Installation of a rear timber patio door, designed to complement the property’s character and improve thermal performance.

The result is a carefully balanced upgrade that respects the original architecture while enhancing comfort and energy efficiency.

South Lambeth Road

A technically demanding project showcasing the full breadth of our sash window expertise. This comprehensive refurbishment combined high-performance glazing with meticulous heritage detailing throughout a period property in South London. Scope of works included:

Installation of LandVac vacuum-glazed Accoya timber sashes and rear door for superior acoustic and thermal performance, expertly set within bespoke joinery.
Reinstatement of slimline double glazed french doors to basement doors to preserve surrounding linings and timber.
Custom-matched mouldings reproduced to replicate the original sash profiles and architectural detailing.
Upgrade of all ironmongery and locks, ensuring both security and period-appropriate finishes.
Full restoration of the original timber entrance door, stripped back to bare wood to reveal and preserve the decorative rosette mouldings. All doors masterkeyed for practical and secure access.

Waterloo House

A major refurbishment project within a fully operational office building in central Birmingham, delivered to a strict schedule to minimise disruption to tenants and ensure continuity for the businesses on-site. Scope of works included:

Full overhaul of 166 sash windows, including removal, refurbishment, and reinstatement. Complete draughtproofing and internal redecoration of all window units (external works carried out by main contractor).
Replacement of all spiral balances across the property.
Installation of 4 new double-glazed units to replace failed panes.
Extensive specialist timber repairs using splicing and RepairCare wood maintenance system, ensuring longevity and structural integrity.

Our team worked flexibly and efficiently to accommodate tenant schedules and access restrictions, completing all works with minimal disruption in a high-traffic commercial environment.

Thurloe Place Mews

A complete external joinery upgrade to this charming mews property in South Kensington, designed to enhance thermal performance while preserving period character. Scope of works included:

Removal of existing single-glazed leaded casement windows and replacement with bespoke double-glazed timber casement windows, manufactured to match original proportions.
Factory-finished in durable white Teknos microporous paint for a long-lasting and low-maintenance finish.
Supply and installation of a period timber entrance door, fitted with upgraded security ironmongery.

BT Telephone Exchange

A large-scale external joinery and glazing project at the BT Telephone Exchange in Guildford, delivered in coordination with other ongoing works across the site. We had full responsibility for two elevations of the building. Scope of works included:

Metal railings redecoration.
Timber joinery repairs carried out across all windows, ensuring structural integrity and weather protection.
Replacement of 20 laminated glazing units, each approximately 3 metres high, installed using specialist handling and access equipment.
External redecoration of 218 timber casement windows, restoring the building’s façade to a clean, uniform finish.

Gloucester Walk

A detailed restoration project on a listed property in Kensington, combining acoustic performance upgrades with traditional joinery techniques. Scope of works included:

Full stripping and restoration of a large 12-pane casement window, taken back to bare timber, meticulously sanded, decorated, and fitted with new period-style ironmongery.
Acoustic glazing upgrade to improve sound insulation while retaining original aesthetics.
Draughtproofing and restoration of a double venetian sash window to enhance thermal efficiency.
Full replacement of a single-glazed sash window in the study, replicating the old rotten one.

Kensington Court Mansions

A detailed refurbishment project within a prestigious mansion block in Kensington, focused on improving comfort and visual quality while respecting the original joinery. Scope of works included:

Draughtproofing of 25 original timber sash windows, improving thermal efficiency and user operation.
Upgrade of all ironmongery, with high-quality fittings in a period-appropriate finish.
Full internal/external redecoration using premium finishes from Paint & Paper Library, selected to complement the interior design scheme.

Poole High Street

A sensitive restoration of a prominent and historically significant listed building on Poole High Street, focused on preserving original timber features while upgrading performance. Scope of works included:

Full restoration of the timber entrance portico, carefully stripped back using Peelaway 1 to remove layers of aged paint without damaging the woodgrain.
Extensive splice repairs and resin restoration using the RepairCare system, bringing the entrance back to its original detailing and structural integrity.
Draughtproofing and redecoration of 28 sash windows, enhancing both appearance and efficiency.
2 sash windows beyond repair were replicated to match the originals in every detail and 3 hardwood cills were replaced due to deep rot.

OneStop Reading

A departure from our usual window and joinery works, this project involved essential maintenance and external improvements to a busy local retail premises. Scope of works included:

Scaffolding and safe access setup around the main roof perimeter.
Cleaning and preparation of all roof slopes, including removal of moss, lichen, and debris.
Targeted timber repairs to dormers, with decayed areas cut out and scarfed in, followed by full redecoration using Dulux Exterior Weathershield system.
Flat roof treatment with a brush-applied fibreglass membrane.
Fascia and soffit repairs, including overcladding with 9mm PVC boards and reinstatement of gutters.
Brickwork repairs include filling of holes, removal of redundant cabling, and full repointing beneath the damp-proof course line with cement/sand mortar.

This project was delivered on time and to specification, ensuring the store remained protected and visually refreshed with minimal disruption to operations.
